Behold, the only time we get a good look at the three pretty Realms in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms!!
My friend and i went to see the Nutcracker movie. Mostly because I wanted to and it was a deal that he would take me to see it and I in turn I had to watch that zombie musical. FYI I HATE zombies, absolutely terrified, but anyway. I knew it wasn't going to be amazing but it turned out being reaaaally...dull. it couldn't even keep the little kids who sat next to us entertained. Kept asking "when is it going to get good?" And I was like "same kid".
(pfft nutcrack. I am very mature)
The movie kept hyping up so many things but there was no climax to anything at all. The final "battle" was so underwhelming and tried to provoke an emotion that wasn't established. Also the lazy writing, (spoilers ahead I guess) there was a scene where the main characters are captured and Clara is feeling really crummy after finally opening the egg ornament her mother left her. It turns out it's just a regular music box. I mean I'd be disappointed to, finding nothing after being given a note that read "everything you need is inside". But then I also took that in a literal sense and got irritated when she didn't look inside the workings. Anywho, She fumbles with the egg and discovers the inside top half flips into a mirror and guess who's staring back, yup! She is the thing she needs to turn this whole war around. Suddenly her whole outlook changes and she is courageous once more. Sure I guess, but this whole transition was too instant, the pacing was just off. This movie actually could have been good, it certainly had a lot of potential and could have made more use if their characters, but you don't care for them at all. They were just using the Nutcracker name tbh. I felt bad for having dragged my friend to watch this.
...the costumes, ballet and visuals were beautiful though. But that's all it has going for it. Actually the beginning bit with the family was good to. It goes downhill when Clara enters the realms.
Few days later while browsing the Facebooks I came across a post by AMC theaters about giving out free key charms for watching the movie in 3D, which we did, but only because our original time slot was full (surprisingly) and 3D was the next earliest showing.
Now, we did see Nutcracker in 3D, but it wasn't at AMC. But my friend was determined to get that key as a reward for watching the movie and not falling asleep. Lol. Now this pal of mine is extremely charismatic and persuasive. It's amazing the things he manages to gain and make happen, sometimes I question if he's human. But despite this I still thought they wouldn't give give the charms if we hadn't watched at the proper theater. But then...
He got the frickin' keys. TWO OF THEM.
So now I await the day I am to be dragged to the Zombie musical. Thaaat's gonna be fun. *cries internally*
The Ballet tells the Story of Our World
So....
Was I the only one expecting that the Regent of Flowers and the Regent of Snowflakes would get together and have a #gaymoment in Disney's the Nutcracker and the Four Realms?

Disney’s The Nutcracker
Okay so I’ve been seeing some mixed reviews about the Nutcracker movie and, I don’t really have any strong opinions on it either way. I grew up with The Nutcracker Prince and that’s really all the “Nutcracker” I was exposed to.
HOWEVER, can we all just take a moment to appreciate Phillip (the soldier) played by Jayden Fowora-Knight?
Because...
He
Is
Everything.
I’ve only known about this guy for half an hour and I already have a crush. And it’s nice to see a black man be depicted in a “Prince Charming straight out of the Fairy Tales” kind of way. That’s pretty rare in media.
Look, I just hope these two get to be in the Disney Parks because I would so take pics with them!
So cheers to Philip, I may have to buy a ticket just to see you in action!
