“Mr. Schrader, you need to make sure you keep your fingers clean. I don’t think you’d have done this well a week from now.” That’s an understatement. Dan’s certain he’d have been draining the man of pus given another day.
His eyebrows knit together and Dan consciously wears his most serious, authoritative face. He wants the patient to take him seriously, but he hesitates when he meets Schrader’s eyes.
“…Fractures are pretty common. Keep the splint clean and dry – you’ll need to wear it for at least 3 weeks.” He spins in his chair, scratching something down on a form.
“Okay. How’s your pain?”
