And I think my biggest critique is honestly not knowing why Luci is so ride or die for the group. Like I know on paper it’s because they entertain him and hang out with him and don’t go “aaahh demon” I know it’s because he finds them fun. But it’s yet to explain why he feels affection for the group.

I get why Bean and Elfo feel affection. Elfo has a crush on her and she’s just happy to have friends, especially ones that follow her around instead of just being at the bar to drink.

I guess what I’m trying to ramble out is I’m still figuring out why Luci chooses them. Elfo chooses Bean because he holds infatuation and admiration towards her. He chooses to accept Luci’s presence both because he has low standards and it’s apart of choosing Bean. Though I also see him choosing Luci because he has a genuine interest in being around people who are fundamentally different from elves. Bean chooses them because she values the fact that they want to be around her not because she’s a princess or because she makes a good drinking buddy.

But I haven’t figured out why Luci sticks around besides “eh they’re fun.”

The trio has also bonded and have interest in keeping each other around because the others understand what is happening by sheer proximity. But who knows how long that would be in effect in a post-series context.

Now granted, there’s a lot we haven’t seen on screen. Elfo was dead for five months. And most time has passed since Bean returned to Dreamland. So it’s entirely possible we’re not seeing a touching moment between Luci and the others because it’s off screen/not plot related yet. Never mind the fact that I don’t think we’ve seen an emotionally important moment for Luci besides giving up his wings, so we don’t have a great insight on him because of his idc facade.
