I am happy that Paridhi Sharma made a comeback as Babita Khurana of Patiala Babes. She is doing a great job. We can understand the basic storyline through this post. When the promos aired, I was like Mini is going to help Babita (whom Mini fondly calls Babes) so that she can enhance her skills. I thought that this would be a happy story of a mother and daughter duo, who give us bromance goals. But when I started watching the episodes, I was a bit surprised. There is a whole story to why Mini encourages her Babes to think about herself.

Mini Khurana is a 17 year old girl of Patiala who lives with her mother, Babita and grandparents. Mini’s father Ashok Khurana is a businessman who lives in London. Not even once in all these years he had thought of taking his wife & daughter to reside with him. He visits once in 4-5 years, spends some time with family and cites some excuses every time and goes back. The reason is his paramour Mita (who is now pressurizing him to reveal their relationship to his family). Poor Babita, so ingenuous and gullible doesn’t even question him as why he doesn’t take her with him. She had lost her parents and as a dutiful wife, DIL and mother takes care of the family. One day, Ashok on Mita’s insistence sends a voicemail to his sister Lovely (who resides in her maayka along with her husband) and then the family members get to know about this. Ashok’s father stands as a strong support to Babita. Mini is heartbroken but then takes a decision that she would be leaving the house with her Babes. For the meantime, they shift to Babes’ brother, Pinku’s house. Later, Pinku also reveals that he can’t financially support them. So the duo leave the house and Mini starts to hunt for a house. An agent called Khatri, misbehaves with Babita and Mini beats him. Then comes Inspector Hanuman Singh, a Haryanvi cop who sends Khatri to jail for a night. He nicknames Mini as Veer Balika and is a widower and alcoholic. To seek revenge, Khatri conspires with all the agents and the duo don’t find a single place to live. Then Hanuman Singh offers his penthouse-room to live in.

Ashok Khurrana, is so spineless and double faceted. Men like him keep my belief intact that no matter what, men will be men! I don’t know what to say after the Section 497 (adultery/infidelity) verdict in India, but it is wrong to keep people in dark at least on moral grounds. I mean, if you think you don’t want to be in the relationship, just end it! You shouldn’t be two timing! 17 years was really a huge period. If he would have taken this step years earlier, things would have been better for Babita. It is sad but true that things remain unchanged for a married woman in our country. Parents marry her off and think it’s not their responsibility. Woman goes to the in-laws house, stays with them and after years people like Ashok leave her, what would be her plight? Babita is at least 40 years now and she has become dormant. No organization is going to offer employment to her. Mini also may not be able to get a job with decent pay because she is still an undergraduate. If they legally sue Ashok, it is also going to be difficult. Generally people are afraid of poilce, courts and all. The in-laws, especially Ashok’s mother will emotionally blackmail her and even her brother is not going to support her. He is not going to divorce her for his selfish reasons which I have described in the next paragraph. Then again court kacheri is gonna cost her money. The only option left for survival is business and from where are they going to get capital and investment? Firstly, they need a separate house for themselves, which is also difficult because there are people like Khatri. The society’s ossified disease of blaming the woman if her marriage dissolves is gonna make it more difficult, the icing on the top being people who want to take advantage and misbehave with them. This is the reason why a woman wants to be self-dependent. Being financially strong also keeps your self-esteem and self-confidence intact. But Mini must be appreciated for her courage nevertheless.

Infidelity is not the only reason why I dislike Ashok. He had some other intentions behind coming back home with Mita. After losing everything in London, he planned to start his business in India with his business cum love partner Mita. The only collateral left for starting a new business is the house in Patiala for which he has repaid the loan installments. Unfortunately, the house is owned by his parents. So he wants to be nice to them and once they accept Mita, he wants their signatures and Sukhi’s (Lovely’s husband) contacts to start the business. After the business is successful they want to flee. He blames Babita for Mini being outspoken and I am like WTF dude? Matlab itne saal tujhe apni beti ki padi nahi thi aur achanak se teri beti teri izzat ho gayi? Tune use bada hote hue dekha bhi nahi. Aaya bada !

Pinku also no less. I agree that he earns less and can’t feed two extra people. But, at least he could have helped them.

Hanuman Singh’s entry was to support the duo which is much predictable. Him being a Haryanvi Cop, his dialogue delivery, antics, having a shadow-like-subordinate and having Salman Khan kinda attitude is all so common. But what makes him different is his sensibility and dialogues like “Sabse bada rog – Kya kahenge log!”.

My advice to Mita would be to leave Ashok. He is so self-absorbing that he may even leave you for his selfish purposes (when Mita asks him about divorce, he always shuns her that his parents would not be in favour of this).

This whole separation track was so realistic that I wanted to write about it in detail. But something from yesterday’s episode squeezed my heart - Despair of Chachaji and Chachiji. Unable to see the proceedings, Chachaji leaves for office and it is Chachiji who unwillingly carries out all the rituals. Resignation was much evident from Chachiji’s expressions. She gave up realizing that nothing can be done. (My mother feels that something can be done, we will come to it later). But my heart goes out to Anand Agarwal. I was enraged when Rakesh Agarwal announced his decision referring himself as the “father” (that father who has never ever cared about his daughter, nor even he remembers her birthday, never appreciated or acknowledged, if not in front of her then at least before others, about his daughter who is excellent in academics. Never ever showered his love on her. It was always Arjun for him and Naina was just a “jhanjhat jisse jitna jaldi ho sake paraaya ghar jaana hai”) who has every right to decide about the future of their children. I am so sick of this Taiji and Tauji as well. Exploitative reprobates !!!

This douchebag Librarian has forgotten that it was Anand and Bela who raised Naina. They never differentiated between Preeti and Naina. In fact there were instances where they supported Naina more than Preeti. They definitely had equal rights (should have more) to interfere/have a say when Naina’s marriage was being fixed. I felt really sad seeing Anand’s anguish. He could sense that dejection in Naina’s eyes. Amongst all the Agarwals, he is the only sensible person who never differentiated between girls and boys, and status and religion. It was only a few days ago, he was advising Naina to complete her B.Com successfully so that she can venture into Charted Accountancy. I am sure that if Naina would have told him about her aspiration of being a writer, he would have given approval for that. I understand, how it feels to have “one's yarns changed back into cotton”. He was the one who always encouraged Naina to dream and achieve something in life. But now, when those dreams were being subverted, all he could do is lament. He is helpless before the elders of the family and this was pricking his conscience. His efforts were all for naught. The guilt’s gravity was so much that he was unable to sleep. In spite of Bela consoling him, he blamed himself for everything. 

P.S : I don’t know why on earth Taiji and Tauji have a problem with Naina. I fail to understand the benefit these buggards will induce through this conspiracy.

Yesterday, my Dad was surfing through the channels and arrived at SET Channel. I immediately told him to stop as this question from 10 Ka Dum (I don’t like watching reality shows because they are never real) caught my eye - 

“Kitne prathishat bhartiyon ko lagta hai ki unke mummy-papa unse aur unke bhai-beheno se baraabar pyaar karte hain.” (What percent of Indians feel that their parents love them and their siblings equally?)

My instant answer was like somewhere around 50%. But much to astonishment, the answer is 88%. Who are we kidding? 

Before we pat our shoulders for the number, we need to consider some factors-

Is the number authentic? How did they conduct their poll survey?

Does this number include all economic classes of the country? Especially the middle class?

Does this number include all age groups?

The answer is either not sure/don’t know or no, because when the answer can’t be Yes, it should be from the above stated alternatives. I guess the answer is NO for at least the last question, because for the second question, the answer needs to be speculated. 

Coming to why the answer is NO for the third question, the number itself projects the answer. How many of our parents/grandparents have experienced equal love from their parents along with their siblings? At some point or the other our parents have been subjected to partiality and they kept quiet. There were more number of siblings which resulted in less attention and love. It must have been not possible to give equal attention to all. They might have felt despair. (I don’t deny instances where people were given equal attention and love despite these conditions). Let’s face the hard realities here. Poverty perhaps compels people to prefer male child because they feel that a boy can earn for the family (which is a wrong perception because even a girl can earn for the family). I have also seen exceptional cases where a poor family has supported their children irrespective of their gender and age. What about well-to-do and affluent families? How much ever one is educated or rich, bias is still prevalent in the society. Bias is bias, whether it is more inclination towards boy child or more love towards the first born/second born.

Here comes the most anticipated scene of the decade. We were all pulling our hair, scratching our skulls and banging our heads on the walls just to decode the things. We were so desperately sending prayers (to CVs?) for this.  Finally, we got it! Yaasss ! 

We got the lambe baalon wala praani’s most precious monologue!!! 

Sigh !   

Bohut intezaar karvaaya tumne... *wipes tears of happiness*... Magar hume pata tha, tum aaoge, tum zaroor aaoge.

Jatadhaari gets pissed off when yeh ladki doesn’t lift the phone.

BINGO ! TejKara... WTF ! Today is raining scenes.

My Shipper heart so happily dances.

So satisfied !...? But wait a minute, I am feeling a bit uneasy. What’s wrong?

Why I felt uneasy is the same reason I always hate CVs for. Infact, this is the only reason that I have been hating the merger like hell. I am a person who favours to see continuity in the progression of a story. Story telling is an art. Be it anyway, but still someway or somewhere there lies a connectivity and continuity for things. We all know that Kunal nails acting angst scenes. But, why did the scene didn't do for me inspite of it being the way we all wanted (him getting FBs of Gauri and his most awaited, precious POV ) was because of the lack of continuity. Keeping away Shrenu's sudden illness, if we see, it was the same case as it is with RiKara. The same void continued. This was happening from the merger. Remember, Main Tenu Samjhaawan sequence? We saw Om was crying standing near the pool. I felt happy inspite of the editing blunder that it has to be placed right after the song. But neither before nor after that scene, I saw any such continuity. Dangal track toh was just like back to square one for me in terms of continuity. 

The justification provided for OmRu hiding their problems is fine. What about the justification of G's absence? Everyone seem so oblivious of her. The rest of time, OmRu conveniently forget what is happening in their life. But suddenly, a scene props out, reminding us that there is a story of them too ! This was not the case with BB&B ( Bade Bhaiyya & Bhaujaai ). Even if the concentration sometimes shifts to other stories, their story doesn't miss the continuity. I know BBB fandom also is annoyed, because the quality is compromised, but atleast they have continuity right? DBO was fabulous not just because RiKara are leads of DBO and they got more SS for them. DBO had crappy things like skeletons,snakes, injections, smokes, masks, barf- dabbas. But still we saw, because there was continuity and quality of the scenes we got for the couple. Both RuVya and RiKara 's plots individually were connected. When they announced merger, I was like bring it on because I thought I may get those first episodes type scenes. I love OBros. But this totally  flopped. I guess, the whole essence of IB&DBO is ruined now. It's just writers fault. The story is stagnated and inconsistent. The damage is done. Not even the rumored leap can save the show if this issue remains. The first 100 episodes of IB and the whole of DBO was just bliss. Sigh !

I know right? After all this is a fiction, but really can't get off from this shitty show because of RiKara. Otherwise, my continuity issue would have made me leave the show then itself. I guess something is wrong with my hormones, because when I am too much tired, I do too much bakbak.
