Also, where would you say your art's theme derives?
The theme? Like, ponies? Or the headcanons/stories I create for them and draw them into? (ill just answer both)
I started drawing ponies during school to help cope with my anxiety. During the school year, I draw 1-3 small pieces a day, or maybe 1 big piece over two days. I work and draw in downtime, and it significantly lowers my anxiety! Luckily, I’m very fortunate to have accommodations, so my teachers let me draw without complaint (probably bc they see my grades rise when I do lol). In more hands-on classes like Fibers or Bio, I wouldn’t draw as much or at all. Some classes are just too fast paced to allow you to draw AND keep up your grades. Combine this with rowing 6 days a week, and uH.. yeah it gets difficult to manage grades, but I wouldn’t change it!
As for headcanons, I really feel like there isn’t a lot of backstory to: Cadence, Celestia or Luna, the alicorn species as a whole, the elements of harmony, Starswirl the bearded, NMM’s banishment, king sombra, discord… I want to change that! Even if it’s revealed later in the show, it’s still very fun to toy around and think of headcanons. i.e., Sombra used to be Princess Luna’s student, like how Sunset Shimmer was.
Your art style is so wonderful but also unique to me! Where would you say you learned the most in creating art?

I think I learned the most when I got my first set of copics. Not sure why, but my dad said yes to $300 markers for my silly (and most likely shoddy) pony drawings. I poured over speedpaints, and started “"shading”“ by outline the entire pony with a darker color… lol. I got better as I put my art up on Tumblr- I saw other artists, how they blended, etc. however, I didn’t really take a liking to the small lil button nose style- I wanted to do something different! I also wanted my anatomy to be at least a little thought out. The forehead extends into the horn, I decided, and straight up. I recently started using an alchemy-symbol inspired way to draw unicorn magic. I think I learned the most with speed paint videos- digital art and traditional. A great person to watch is Jordan Persegati- he’s funny, relaxed, and gives wonderful tips on coloring and lineart. You also get to watch his beautiful process while listening to his cool voice!
