WOODSTOP 1998- a not-festival at Goolengook, lots of actions over a few weeks, lots of people, and the capture of a lovely dozer which was putting roading through some rivers which was kept for a week and underwent a glorious change at the hands of activists, thus the Disco Dozer was born.
Once again it is always good to document and share activist history, this was a successful part of Australian activist history that should not be forgotten! Brutal as fuck!
It is also good to reminisce of the days before exclusion zones, when we were able to be where the action was instead of now where people who are locked on or up tree sits still have the support of those on the ground, however if caught on the ground you will be arrested hence we have to make our presence known and then run, which came into place in 2002 during the second attempt to log Goolengook. The response of the Government when activists become too successful, change the laws to make it harder and harder to blockade. But still we continue, and still we continue to be affective.
