A major 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia near San José del Palmar (Chocó Department).

The powerful quake caused widespread destruction across major cities, including Pereira, Cali, and Quibdó, where multiple buildings collapsed and emergency evacuations were triggered.

Tremors were felt as far away as Bogotá, Ecuador, Panama, and Venezuela. Emergency response teams are actively carrying out search and rescue operations while officials monitor for potential aftershocks.
