Crowdfund for a new PC (Continued from January)
As some of y’all know, on and off again I’ve been trying to crowdfund for a new PC. I’m housebound and need a new computer to keep in touch with friends and family, and for my writing and research. I’m also interested in trying to learn digital art and 3D modeling, with the hope of one day being able to do commissions and stuff for more income.
My old PC from 2013 (pictured) has been busted since August of 2018, and would require so much money to fix at this point that I’d be spending almost as much on it as a new system would cost.
But the situation’s gotten even more urgent after our other backup comp busted, leaving us with only one computer in the entire household; which belongs to my mother, not me. I’ve just been borrowing it since my own PC busted.
My mother is also a writer and teacher, does a lot of research of her own, so it isn’t really practical for us to ‘share’ it. I will have to give it back, which means I won’t be able to use it but only a few hours a day.
Last month I was able to raise about $144, which I still have and am counting toward my final goal, which is about $700. All I can ask is that people understand the situation I’m in, and consider donating or signal boosting. At this point I’ve been borrowing someone else’s computer for two years, and and help would be greatly appreciated.
