So guess what y’all... I’ve officially joined the world of online dating! Yep, at the grand old age of 24 I’ve joined Bumble. This was something I was quite worried about trying; how did I go about telling potential dates about myself without overwhelming people with information about my health, or alternatively, feeling like I was lying if I didn’t mention my health? I’ve been seriously thinking about trying online dating for a few months now, but of all the things that pushed me to give it a go, it was a Cosmo article! Although to be fair, my family and friends have been very encouraging! The reason this particular Cosmo article was what gave me a kick up the arse was because it was written by someone going through incredibly similar worries; the author was a fairly new amputee who worried about keeping the balance of being honest without overwhelming or scaring people. Reading something that put my worries into words helped immensely. So I’ve decided to just go for it! Wish me luck 🍀! And if there are any disabled online daters reading this, please feel free to pass on any advice you have from your own experiences 😁👍🏻 P.s. dad’s not quite so thrilled about my foray into online dating 😂! Mum just sent me this; Me (mum)- amz is on a dating site Dad- why ? Me 😆 Dad- I think they need to open Barons again sort all this dating business out I’m creased 😂! #disabledanddating #igotthis💪 https://www.instagram.com/p/B2uY-rchtvK/?igshid=zkb02fjtitxs
