         he knows that oliver’s picked up on it. they’ll be having a good time together, laughing and kissing and feeling, when luca just backs away. retreats, asks ollie to leave, rolls over and goes to sleep. and he knows he knows WHY, too. the soft kisses, the lingering gazes  - it isn’t just sex anymore. it hasn’t been in a long time.

         and that TERRIFIES luca. rocks him right down to the core. he wasn’t taught the tolerance that he believes ollie to have been taught. he was raised by rich roman catholics - not religious until it came to who you loved. and luca cannot NOT love oliver. he just can’t.

                  except he does. and though he wants to answer sincerely, the scared little boy inside won’t let him react with anything but ANGER he doesn’t truly feel.

how could he NOT notice? luca has never been SUBTLE, but he is even less subtle when it comes to his WITHDRAWAL. it’s been happening more lately, luca would suddenly click and ask oliver to leave; and not just when they’re getting ROMANTIC, sometimes when they’re just cuddling or laughing. 

he’s come to terms that luca just wants SEX, though. his parents can’t know, and neither can their friends. it HURTS, but its worth it. that’s what oliver tells himself anyway; when he’s sat on the end of luca’s bed, pulling his jeans up his legs, looking around to make sure he hasn’t forgotten anything before leaving. except this time he doesn’t just LEAVE. 

this isn’t JUST SEX and they both know it. and luca’s REFUSAL to acknowledge that, to feel anything at all, it outright angers the blonde. he opens his mouth to respond, but the way luca refers to him as nothing but another fuck cuts into him, and his expression changes from a soft upset, into that of ANGER.

“no, they aren’t knockoffs.” blue hues cast a look of disgust in his direction, even offended that someone would question him on it. “i’m not that cheap.”

     her jaw might as well have hit the ground. “ are you fucking kidding me? IT’S POT  ––––  what, did you roll it in fucking gold leaf and crush a couple diamonds in there to hike the price up? am i gonna have visions of fucking liberace and the queen doing the bloody splits when i smoke it? ”
