      sure, he’s noticed the constant looks that were exchanged between his best friend and twin sister. had he ever thought to acknowledge those exchanges though? no, he didn’t think he had to. at least not until he heard them flirting with each other. did he want them to be happy? yes, but she was his sister and she was off limits. he didn’t particularly care if she called him a hypocrite in regards to lexi, and emma. “ w━ woah woah woah ... dude, my sister? hell no, she’s off limits. “

 “So your shining moment with your parents is the fact your father locked you other up until she fell in love with him?”

                    “ you’re kidding me. ”     eyes are narrowed in skepticism … maybe he’s just worried.  after all,  seven out of ten knuckles are split open and her eyes hold the chaos of a tornado inside her cold blue gaze.  she looks like she ate hell for breakfast and spat it back out — which wouldn’t be an understatement,  but it isn’t necessarily the best look,  and she’s got a reputation to uphold.  

——— or maybe he’s full of shit.  no one ever simply does a favor without a price to pay later down the line ;  she’s learned the hard way.  charlotte knows who her father is,  she knows she is the way she is because of him.  she isn’t distrusting,  just calculated,  and willing to beat an honest answer out of someone if needed,  but she isn’t in any shape for that.   (  plus,  she’d hate to hurt isaac’s pretty,  pretty face.  )   

“ i’m fine, ”   comes her husky voice.  she’s not,  but she decides she is for now,  because there’s no way in hell she’s accepting isaac l*ahey’s help.  a step is taken closer,  they’re nearly touching,  she looks up through lashes at him,  and in a low,  soft,  seductive voice ;    “ if you could,  kindly,  fuck off ? ”

      eyebrows  furrow  lightly,  glossy  lips  pursing  together  in  disbelief.  “werewolf?  come  on,  ben,  everyone  knows  the  big  bad  wolf  is  safe  and  sound  away  at  the  isle.  i  know,  mom  used  to  teach  him  how  to  do  his  eyebrows  –  believe  it  or  not,  with  all  that  fur,  his  eyebrows  were  the  only  thing  he  cared  about!”  evie  rambles,  lips  parting  as  she  takes  a  trip  down  memory  lane  –  how  queen  grimhilde’s  castle  used  to  be  so  empty  with  the  rares  visits  from  people  who  dared  go  against  maleficent’s  banishment.  how  halloween  used  to  be  her  favorite  holiday  but  the  children  only  ever  stopped  by  the  castle  to  write  on  the  walls  or  make  fun  of  evie  from  a  distance  –  all  too  terrified  that  maleficent  (  or  mal  )  would  banish  them  next.  then  she  notices  ben  is  probably  still  waiting  for  her  to  say  something  else,  head  shaking  as  blue  curls  spread  around  her  face.  “what’s  halloween  even  like  around  here?  do  you  guys  dress  up?  are  there  a  lot  of  pranks?  mal  and  jay  love  pranking  people”  the  girl  inquires,  trying  not  to  show  the  sadness  that  has  taken  over  her  features  with  the  reminder  of  home.
