The Gully Boy
I often wonder, that why people are calling him Gully Boy. I believed, He might have the resemblance with Ranbir Singh who played the character of rapper in Gully Boy movie, however it was not true. He was not even close to it and he is not Rapper. He doesn’t even know what Rap is. He likes music as much as we all do, yet not know much about music, that genres and all. It doesn’t mean that I know all, but I know what RAP is. He was not popular earlier as I never heard of him from anyone, however he is the hot topic now in the gossips. I don’t do gossiping, but it’s on the air and I heard from someone and that is how I came to know about this Gully Boy topic.
He is a random guy who does not have much social life. I never see him in regular get-togethers. He is quiet and hardly meet people around him and that is why he left with very few friends. We insisted him many times to mix up in the people but matter of fact he doesn’t like it at all. He likes to be isolated. Except this, he is ambitious. Someone would ask then how can be he Gully Boy? I must say that question is legitimate. Anyone would end up on this question as I did. So I got in to the details as I was curious and after that what I found was impulsive.
One fine day, I reach out to our one of the mutual friend and expressed my curiosity to know about the secrete behind this name. Without spending much time, he asked me instantly, do you know the gully? I was like which gully man! There are thousands of in the city. The special one? He emphasized. I said, I don’t understand what are you talking about man, please explain and don’t make me more confuse. He again asked me, don’t you know that we have Red Light area in the city which is also called as Gully and this guy visits it quite frequently as per the resource that is why people call him Gully Boy. I asked, who is your resource. He didn’t reply this one, only winked and left in haste. I thanked him to let me understand the secrete behind the name Gully Boy. I realized, it was that simple but I never thought this way. So there is a new term which I came to know that time, people visiting gully regularly called as Gully Boy.
Next day, I decided to meet Gully Boy and asked him directly to get it clarified. He was seating in the corner of the cafeteria minding his own business. I took a chair and passed a smile. We are quite familiar for long time now, that is why I asked him without any hesitation. Hey! I want to ask you something if you don’t have any problem. He said, go ahead and ask! I asked, why are you visiting gully so frequently? He replied like he was born ready for that question. I know what people thinks about that place, “what do you think?” Am I really enjoying to visit that place? No, I don’t like it. I don’t go there by choice. There is a motive. You might fail to understand it but it’s true. I only visit that place to make myself very clear that I don’t want to live this life (The Gully Life). I have seen it very closely I feel pity for them. I don’t want to live like bugs. I want far improved life than them. It keeps me encouraged in my life. I work harder after I visit that place. As I could not forget that sight and it helps me to work passionately in life. It works for me. I don’t give a bull shit what people thinks about it but it’s my life and I would do whatever to keep it going smoothly. I don’t care what they are calling me.
I was amazed to hear that as he was just trying to hide his Hunger under the philosophical shit!
