What takes place between Grogu falling asleep next to the rancor and Din and him flying off in the N-1 Starfighter? Well, it turns out that is has something to do with Peli, and a message R2 left behind that she forgot to mention.

There was a message waiting for him at Peli’s hangar. One the astromech who had flown Grogu to Tatooine had left. The mechanic’s casual announcement had taken a while to reach Din’s consciousness, as he’d been struggling to put one foot in front of the other at the time, his arms cramping something fierce but refusing to let go of the small bundle currently fast asleep against his shoulder.
Grogu had arrived alone? That blue droid had brought him? Why hadn’t Skywalker come? Wasn’t it dangerous? Why hadn’t he reached out to him instead? And was he supposed to bring the kid back to him? When?
