These cute dinosaur cookies are a perfect addition to any dinosaur-themed party. The adorable heart-shaped bodies and colorful designs will delight both kids and adults.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Assorted food coloring. Edible candy eyes. Small heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk. Mix the butter and sugar in a different bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones one at a time and mix them together until a dough forms. Separate the dough into smaller pieces and use different food coloring to color each piece. Put the colored dough pieces in the fridge for about 30 minutes after wrapping them in plastic wrap. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. On a floured surface, roll out each color of dough piece to about 1/4-inch thickness. For dinosaur bodies, cut out cookies in the shape of a heart. Place the heart-shaped cookies on the baking sheet so that there is space between them. Make the head of each dinosaur out of a small amount of dough and attach it to the top of the heart. Put candy eyes on the heads of each dinosaur. After the oven is hot, bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
