Sludge wasn’t adding “him” in front of every name. That would require realizing it’s a name before reading it, and his reading comprehension isn’t as good as all that.
Still, he gives Blurr a guilty look and nods. “Okay. Me Sludge sorry.”
And now, back to the beginning. He can skip the line Blurr already said, right? Good. “In fair Varona where we lay our skeen, from anseeint g… grrudge break to new muttinny, where civil blood make civil hands unclean.”
He doesn’t get the story, but he’ll keep reading until Blurr tells him to stop.
Blurr listened to the other reading, correcting here and there. His claw tapped against the text, each other word highlighting. He was keeping up just fine, but it sounded like Sludge was just reading and not absorbing.
“Just try to read it as it’s written. If you can’t, that’s fine. You can add him, I suppose.” His claws twitched. As they got further into the story, Blurr got more and more entertained. He kicked a pede out and swung a metal pipe, as if it was a sword.
“And the story develops into a fight, great expanse of sword fighting! Are you keeping up? K-Kyehehheheh.”

Sludge shuffle-stomps closer, sliding a datapad across to Blurr. His Secret Santa assignment is displayed on the screen.
“You Blurr know this bot?”
Blurr picked up the datapad, optic dimming as he read it over. He tilted his helm. “No... not really. I don’t know who this is.” He looked back up at Sludge. “Why are you asking?”

“Oof-!!” He let out another sound as he tried to push the larger mech off of him. He felt a slight panic form- dinobots and him didn’t always get along. Sludge, however, seemed to like him enough to lay all over him. He shifted, getting a leg free and kicking it out from under Sludge. Then, he vented heavily and just flopped back. “I’m going to die. You’re going to crush me to death.”

“Very good, very good.” He’s following along with his own text, optic trailing over each word. The speech from the Dinobot is slightly off and it’s a little bit bothersome, but he doesn’t know if it can be corrected. That’s what lessons are for. “Good… stop adding him before every name, Sludge. Try again. From the beginning. Two households, both alike in dignity…”
