Universal Orlando Quick Service Reviews
Universal Orlando Quick Service Reviews
Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure have come a long way when it comes to the food that they offer. In years past, the food has been subpar at best. Now some of the places you will want to come back to time and time again. Of course, there are some misses at both theme parks. But overall, they have some great places to choose from. Below we will go over some of the different…

REVIEW: Be Our Guest Restaurant at The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World
REVIEW: Be Our Guest Restaurant at The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World
When the New Fantasyland expansion opened at the Magic Kingdom in 2012, its most popular element was arguably the Be Our Guest Restaurant. Be Our Guest is a table-service restaurant themed to the 1991 Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast. Ever since it’s opening, Be Our Guest has been one of, if not the most popular restaurant in Walt Disney World, with reservations being booked up almost…

Relax, have a drink, and a bite to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
Relax, have a drink, and a bite to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is located outside of the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is a great little outdoor spot to sit, have a drink, enjoy light snacks and relax while people watching. This is the second time I have enjoyed the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. Last year, I wrote another review that you can read here. Menu The menu is a good size with some yummy…

Nestled off of Mill Ave. in Tempe is one of Tempe’s best kept secrets. Delice Bistro is a European style bakery that celebrates Europe’s slow food movement. They serve baked goods such as croissants, as well as sandwiches, quiches and the like. They even have an on-site chocolatier. While researching for Tempe’s Brunch Crawl, we stopped in to try a couple of their croissants.
The feel of Delice Bistro is how you’d imagine a European cafe to be. It is very calm and perfect for a casual lunch date or even an evening dessert date (on Friday and Saturday they are open until Midnight!). We stopped in after eating breakfast at Caffe Boa and walking down Mill. We ordered Iced Americanos and at the suggestion of the guy working at the counter, we ordered an Almond Croissant and a Cheese Croissant.
We had heard that the croissants at Delice Bistro were good, but nothing prepared us for the taste of heaven we were about to experience. Now if you’ve had a croissant, even the sub-par ones are pretty good. However, when you find a good one, it is like seeing the world in a whole new light. The choice of the Almond Croissant and Cheese Croissant was perfect because it gave us a savory and a sweet. Both have that perfectly flakiness that you desire in a croissant. Crusty on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. The Almond Croissant has an almond paste in the middle making it sweet but not too sweet. The Cheese Croissant had Gruyere cheese in the center and when it is served warm is to die for!
With everything baked fresh daily, it is hard not to see why Delice Bistro totally has it going on! We can’t wait to go back and dive deeper into their menu! Quiche anyone? What is your favorite Tempe spot to dine? We always say that we don’t eat in Tempe enough so we are dying to know! Leave a comment below or use the hash tag #GeekEats!

Disney's Vero Beach Resort - Shutters Brunch Review
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort – Shutters Brunch Review
Welcome to the last article in my series about Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. The resort overview can be found here, the review of the 2-bedroom lockoff villa can be found here, and the Sea Turtle Night Walk experience can be found here. Since I am used to making Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR’s) at Walt Disney World Resort, when I learned about the Sunday brunch at Shutters, I went ahead and…

Unlike Walt Disney World, once you walk out of the main entrance to Disneyland Resort you are back in the “real world”… And the dining options are endless!
The Pizza Press 1534 S. Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, CA (Renee Virata)
We recently were looking for a new place to have dinner and walked past The Pizza Press on our way back to our hotel. As we walked past the air surrounding the restaurant made our mouths water and all of us were like “P-I-Z-Z-A!”
The Pizza Press is a fairly newer restaurant and specializes in letting customers write their own pizza story! The Signature menu features a pizza named after a few of the most well known newspapers from around the United States, but the most popular item has to be the “Publish Your Own” pizza. This 10-inch pizza lets guests use their imaginations to create their very own newsworthy pizza. Guests get to choose a wide range of ingredients that include five (5) different sauces, ten (10) cheeses and many fresh vegetables!
Sauces- red sauces, spicy red sauce, white sauce, pink sauce, extra virgin olive oil
Extras- minced garlic, roasted garlic cloves, sundried tomatoes, caramelized onions
Cheeses- mozzarella, pearlini mozzarella, aged parmesan, gorgonzola, hand-crumbled feta, aged sharp cheddar, smoked gouda, ricatta, chevre, vegan cheese($1 extra on any pizza)
Meats- Pepperoni, bourbon bacon, grilled chicken breast, sweet Italian link sausage, smoked ham
Vegetables- Spanish black olives, Kalamata olives, pineapple, sliced jalapenos, red onion, crimini mushrooms, grape tomatoes, artichoke hearts, green bell peppers, scallions, roasted zucchini & squash, roasted red peppers, spinach, kale
Finishers- basil, cilantro, wild arugula, thyme, balsamic glaze, basil pesto, ranch dressing, sriracha, Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce, Frank’s Red Hot sauce, chimichurri sauce
With all of these amazing ingredients guests can let their imagination run wild and create a new pizza every visit!
We were pretty “boring” in our choices and ordered two (2) of the “publish your own” one basic half mozzarella and half pepperoni and one pepperoni and roasted garlic. Both were delicious! My kids shared the pepperoni pizza, but there is “The Junior Editor” that includes a special 6-inch pizza with up to 2 toppings, a cookie and a fountain drink. My kids gobbled up their pizza with no complaints and asked if we could go back the next day.
DIStracted Tip: The Pizza Press offers online ordering with pick up! This is great for those guests leaving Disneyland that are looking for a wonderful meal without the wait. Just order from your smartphone and pick up on your way to your hotel!
I highly recommend give The Pizza Press a chance on your next visit to Disneyland Resort. Trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed!
