It didn’t take long for the IPRE to learn right away that this cycle would be a tough one. Dark ages didn’t even begin to describe the people here. They were immediately flagged down by some kind of EMP device that probably would have shorted out their ship had it been running on any kind of electricity, but Davenport brought the ship down just in case the people there might resort to more deadly methods of shooting them out of the sky.
They were immediately taken to court and their ship impounded and inspected, and they learned right away how dangerous this cycle would be, and how challenging. This world prohibits any use of magic- which, thankfully for them, meant that they wouldn’t use magic to try and sense if any of them were magic users. It was made clear to them immediately that if any of them were caught using magic, not only would they be put to death, but every member of their family would also be executed, not only as a message to further incentivize the people who lived there to never dare to be a magic user, but also to ensure that any possible related magic users, latent or otherwise, would be eradicated.
It’s a terrifying truth they’ll all have to live with, this cycle. At least, between Davenport and Barry, they’re able to make the case that the ship is run on a scientific device, rather than magic. Bonds might be some kind of interplanar magic, but it’s also technically science, so they aren’t liars for leaving out the part that will get them all killed. They’re released within the week, but warned that the government will be keeping a sharp eye on them. And then, in entirely the wrong order, they’re welcomed to their planet.
It’s Barry, Davenport and Merle who decide to stay on the ship that cycle, to try and look for the light. They’d already missed the opportunity to possibly see where it would come down because they were stuck in jail until the trial, but they were still going to do their best to track it down. Considering how anti-magic this world was, they assumed it wouldn’t be terribly hard to follow the rumors to the tangible force of pure magical energy.
Magnus and Taako decide to do fuck all that cycle, pretty much. It was Magnus who came to Taako to ask him if he would accompany him for the year, pretty much because they had yet to spend a cycle together.
Lucretia and Lup make the decision to travel the world that cycle in search for the history of when magic was outlawed and why, the former desperately wanting to find that story for part of her record. But before they all embarked from the ship, probably unlikely to see one another again before the end of the cycle, or unless Davenport and the others found the light quickly and circled back to pick everyone up, it seems that Lup had a few choice words for Taako and Magnus.
dingusandgoofus replied to your post: What do you think Lup would've gone for?
or she would pick magmar because it’s forehead looks like a butt
“OR that, yes. Fair.”

honey: when your muse loves someone (whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial love), how do they show it?
Taako will cling when he becomes comfortable with people. He also gets a bit protective of them as well.
Once he’s comfortable with cooking again, he cooks a lot for the people he’s comfortable with(with Lup helping of course)
He’s not the best at how to deal with emotions, but he’ll listen if you need to vent. Won’t be able to give good advice though.
