The Dingle Tower

PROJECT: Meantime in Greenwich
Meantime in Greenwich is a new, interactive augmented reality art project: a lesson in history, time and "Father of Standard Time" Sir Sandford Fleming. Commissioned by Halifax Culture, created by artist David Clark with technical development and programming by Lukas Steinman, the work is set to debut Monday August 6th in Fleming Park for the 100th anniversary of the Dingle Tower and 5th annual Dingle Natal Day Party, 11am - 2pm and run through 2013.
ALL CAPS Design created the brand, maps, invitations and a even a t-shirt for the work. The aesthetic combines the Victorian landscape texture and old-style typography of Fleming's day with cutting edge mobile technologies. The logo combines the mechanical and natural of the sun and pocket watch while featuring Fleming being beamed out of an iPhone. The maps, in their printed, signage and digital versions highlight where the piece appears throughout Fleming Park, harking back to days of yore while heralding the exciting new augmented reality experience.
Meantime in Greenwich is a great work of art, a new way of connecting with Fleming Park, history and contemporary technology, and an overall good time.
