The other day I was given a set of guidelines for the music for the Boulevard du Ciel. The main thing that stuck in my head was the fact that there is a class system within the city, just your generic 'upper, middle, lower' classes.

So, I sat at my trusty laptop and decided I'd write a motif for the whole of the city, and adopt it into individual compositions for the different tiers.

What I ended up with was a show reel of sorts which didn't achieve what I set out to; it was better. Have a listen.

This gave us the layout for a dynamic BGM, where upon entering battle the music would change (to the middle section in the track) smoothly and efficiently, and then back if needed.

Now onto the 'trying something different' part :p

I've recieved a set of 'crowd' recordings, mostly of city streets, people passing by etc, which I requested from our main FOLEY designer ( (What's a FOLEY designer?) )

I requested these because I had an idea. When Daryl (the boss ^,^) said 'don't forget, there will be people around', I thought, Why not work with a crowd when composing?

Here is what happened :p I'll link the clean one, and the crowd one.

You should close your eyes for both and take note what you see/feel/imagine.
