27. how do they relate to their appearance? how do they wear their clothing? style? quality?

                    arwyn’s clothing choices aren’t the most extravagant. black, black and more black is a common theme with him. it’s a comfortable colour, something that he feels like he can get away with. the colour started showing more and more in his fashion due to it being slimming, and he was willing to take as much of that as he could. and, although his clothing has been fished out of thrift-stores for the majority of his life, he is happy with that. money was always an object, and being able to find clothes that fit him and that made him feel comfortable when looking in the mirror has been essential to him since the age of fourteen. if his style was to be put into a box, it could probably be described as ‘scene’ or your typical ‘emo’ kid but he will deny both of these labels.

andrew  doesn’t  put  a  lot  of  stalk  in  physical  possessions.           actually,            he  doesn’t  put  much  ATTACHMENT  into  anything  at  all.           as  far  as  HE’S  concerned,           everything’s  replaceable.         there’s  no  sense  in  tying  any  of  his  EMOTIONS  to  an  object,          in  associating  a  THING  with  anything  important.           it’ll  only  let  him  down,         get  LOST  or  BROKEN,         &&      then  where  would  he  be  ?        an  item  he  valued  MOST  used  to  be  a  woven  leather  band,          thinly  BRAIDED  into  a  circlet      &&       worn  around  his  wrist,          just  inside  the  rim  of  his  ARM  BANDS.           it  was  a  gift  from  cass  to  always  REMEMBER  her  by.          to  remind  him  he  had  somewhere  he  belonged.          after  leaving  her  home,           he  kept  WEARING  it  as  a  symbol  of  what  he’d  lost.            it  was  a  PHYSICAL  representation  of  the  emotional  scars,          a  way  of  REMINDING  himself  what  happens  when  he’s  weak  enough  to  CARE,           to  believe  in  ridiculous  notions  of  family.             but  still,           there   was  a  PART  of  him  that  clung  to  it,           that  still  thought  CASS  was  out  there  somewhere,           still  caring  for  him  as  he  once  cared  for  her.          

of  COURSE,          that  all  came  to  a  head  at  aaron’s  trial.          she  wouldn’t  even  LOOK  at  him,            too  grief  stricken  over  her  REAL  son,           the  man  who’d  abused  andrew  for  all  those  years.            after  all  was  said      &&      done,            after  getting  cass’s  letter,         he  finally  took  it  off.             it  took  one  SNAP  to  pull  the  leather  from  his  wrist,          broken      &&      mangled.               he  forgets  now,           where  he  left  it  last.           maybe  in  a  BACK  ALLEY,           perhaps  in  ashes,           possibly  in  the  LAKE  at  the  edge  of  campus.             he  only  knows  it’s  lost      &&      he  doesn’t  care.          he  knows  BETTER  than  to  put  such  importance  in  physical  things  he  KEEPS.             the  only  item  he  values  now  is  a  KEY,            &&       that  was  given  rather  than  r e c i e v e d .

as  far  as  he  currently  knows,           there  are  no  outstanding  WARRANTS  out  for  andrew  minyard’s  arrest.           that  is,          at  the  present  moment  in  time,           at  least.           he’s  been  CAREFUL  not  to  get  caught  with  any  illicit  dealings,          only  too  familiar  with  the  DRUG  INDUCED  haze  the  last  arrest  ended  him  with      &&      fresh  from  the  TRAUMA  inflicted  by  a  crooked  therapist  who  liked  to  REENACT  past  trauma’s  at  the  court  mandated  rehab.         however,          he  DOES  have  a  bit  of  a  rap  sheet  behind  him,           including  stunts  in  JUVIE  for  petty  theft      &&      assault,          along  with  THREE  YEARS  of  court  mandated  medication  to  avoid  jail  time  after  nearly  killing  four  guys  for  beating  up  his  COUSIN.          not  to  mention  his  mother’s  murder,           a  tragic  CAR  ACCIDENT  he’s  admitted  to  causing  amongst  his  close  circles  but  could  never  be  FORMERLY  charged  for.

slender  fingers  WRAP  around  a  well  traveled  wrist,           tight  as  a  VICE  to  trap  neil  from  escape.          from  running      /      running      /      R U N N I N G  !            a  storm  in  w h i s k e y  eyes  brews  dangerously,        SWIRLING  tempest  in  sepia  tones,          a   reminder  of  past  ATROCITIES,           a  warning  for  future  GRIEVANCES.           he  arches  an  eyebrow,           the  s u b t l e s t  gesture  to  warn  that  PATIENCE  is  a  virtue,           not  to  be  found  in  the  graveyard  boy,           SHROUDED  in  cemetery  sin. 

‘      TICK           tock           TICK           tock.      ‘                his  tongue  CLACKS  against  the  roof  of  his  mouth,         sing  song  trill  cutting  through  the  a i r  with  a  musical  lilt.            a  broken  TOY,            music  box  out  of  tune,           a  CANARY  with  it’s  throat  slit      &&      bleeding,           yet  still  he  s i n g s  his  macabre  melody.               ‘      i’m  WAITING.      ‘

                                              ‘     WHAT   THE   FUCK   DO      you  think  you’re  d o i n g  ?      ‘                 a  rough  tone,           demanding       &&       forceful,            punctuated  by  the  SLAM  of  a  fist  against  the  lockers  as  his  voice  REVERBERATES  around  the  home  team  locker  room.            all  too  AWARE  of  riko’s  recent  departure,            he  pins  nathaniel  between  HIMSELF       &&       the  wall,            invading  his  space,               t h r e a t e n i n g  in  all  that  he  is.           predator,            he  has  been  FORGED  a  weapon  by  moriyama  hands,            by  wesninski,            by  morgenstern.                   ‘      i  thought  running  AWAY  would  make  you  a  coward,            not  an  imbecile.      ‘

                                              A   STOMACH   FULL   OF      ice  cream,          he  s t u m b l e s  into  the  lift  of  fox  tower,            lips  pressed  to  STONY  silence  as  they  have  been  since  that  UNENDING  trial.         only  for  aaron  would  he  spread  himself  bare  like  that.           only  for  aaron  would  he  RELIVE  very  filthy,        animalistic,            decrepit  moment.               only  for  aaron  would  he  show  himself  WEAK.            but  it’s  over  now,         unshed  tears  dry  under  his  eyes,          BEE  already  headed  home.           he  doesn’t  bother  PAUSING  to  talk  as  he’s  met  by  the  pitying  faces  of  foxes.           he  doesn’t  want  them  to  SEE  him  so  small.            instead,          he  BANGS  on  the  door  to  his  suite,           nearly  putting  a  fist  through  it,        TRUSTING  neil  knows  what  the  violence  marks.           then  he  continues  on,            slipping  silently  to  the  roof,           not  for  the  FIRST  time  contemplating  throwing  himself  from  it.             in  the  end,           he  decides  it  wouldn’t  be  interesting  enough  to  be  worth  the  TROUBLE,          so  he  waits.
