& 𝐑𝐄.  EVENT 004  : A  NEON  NIGHTMARE

TWENTY-THREE  MONTHS  .  that’s how  much  time  has  passed since  the  night  that  his  mother  sacrificed his  soul  .  twenty-three  months since  he  turned  into  a  monster  .  twenty-three months  since  he  barely  touched a  drink  .  julian made  a  lot  of  memories during  that  time  ,  good  and  bad  ones  alike  ,  but  tonight  it  feels  like  it’s  all  for  nothing  .  pain  weighs  him  down  like  an  anchor  and  the  darklighter  stares at  the  bourbon in  front  of  him  ,  almost  as  if  the  beverage  itself could  tell  him  what  to  do  .  deep  down  he  knows  the  answer anyway  -  but  his  knowledge isn’t  enough  to  stop  him  from  making this  mistake  .  it’s  not  powerful  enough to  compete  against the  desire  to  drown  his  sorrows  .  he  is  hesitant as  he  brings the  glass  to  his  lips  ,  only  to  toss  it  back  ,  hazel  eyes  setting on  the  bartender .  ❛  i’ll  have  another one  .  ❜  he  murmurs  before he  turns  his  head  to  the  person that  approaches  him  ,  his  gazes  staying averted  .  ❛  sorry  .  i  don’t  think  you’ll  want  my  company tonight  .  ❜  julian murmurs  .  ❛  it’s  supposed  to  be  a  party  .  ❜  and  shit  ,  he  won’t  be  the  life  of  it  .

So he was already very well acquianted by most of the crowd after leaving his imprint of red glitter on everyone, and he didn’t even try to keep himself at a subtle level of any other ball attendee. It would be difficult to rein it all in, especially from the amount of alcohol in his paranoia ridden little system he could barely call a body of a proper shadowhunter anymore. But it was fine. The drinks also helped him not regret his costume choice, and he wore it with such confidence, everyone else seemed to be entertained as well. So yeah. He was having a surprisingly good time, sitting by a table with a bunch of seelies, playing some sort of game where he was supposed to tell them a story, fill it up with lies and the listeners would have to pick-up on whether he was being honest or not. Given his situation, clearly it was a hilarious scene. “I’m tellin’ ya the truth! How-- y’know wh-- how dare you even assume I’m lyin’. Is this the face of a liar to you?” He didn’t even remember what he said a couple of moments ago, but he continued. “So-- before I was rudely interrupted-- Iris, your halo is fallin’-- where was I again, the roller coaster or the howling clown?” 

YOUR ONE CHANCE TO GET A KISS FROM THE QUEEN. She thought the idea was a joke at first, all Ash’s idea of course, but low and behold now here she was, participating at a kissing both. Much to her surprise, and delight, most of the fae who entered her line were young children wanting kisses on the cheek or common folk looking to be close to their queen. She was actually enjoying herself, laughing and smiling at her people who came. She was currently with a boy who was about six years old with curled horns sprouting out of his hair and pink chubby cheeks. Before her lips could place a delicate peck on his cheek, he turned so that it would instead be placed on his mouth. She let out a faux gasp before laughing. “You tricked me! ... for that you get another kiss.” She placed one on his forehead before his father ushered him away, bowing to her as he did so. She bid them farewell, her smile still in place, before turning to the next person in line.

The fair was strange, but this was exactly what he was oddly expecting some how. Some kind of ball. Though he was sure that these didn’t happen regularly. Balls were perfect for making allies and getting to know those around you. Cassian did not expect that he would get many allies. Since his kind were kind of scarce in comparison to all those that had demon blood and those he had clocked well... not much hope there. Which only made things more interesting for him even if he was outnumbered. He went to the bar and ordered a drinkand looked at the patron next to them. “I bet the question you hear the most is why do you think we are here? Yawn. Let’s try something else what is something you wished you knew when you first got here that you know now?” he asked taking a sip of his drink.

TRUTH BE TOLD,  she felt just  a little  underdressed among all the fancy suits and gowns; her own dress was, perhaps, a little more in the direction of  traditional  halloween costumes. the local tailor she’d asked to make it had done  wonders  to make it more elegant  ( and her accessorizing, she felt, did elevate the look some )  but it was still pretty recognizable a rather good replica of winifred sanderson’s gown from  the best movie of all time .  and a few drinks in as she already was, darcy had no issue with  defending  that choice to everyone willing  ( or not )  to listen.  “ don’t get me wrong, your style’s cute, but there’s just ---  hocus pocus is  a classic ,  okay, and it deserves recognition for ---  it practically  made  this holiday, is what i’m saying. ”  she took another sip from her teal-colored, way too sweet drink.  “ what were  you  drawing inspiration from? ”
