every elemental master is a merperson. no one else is.

acronix & krux’s powers were still taken, and acronix was still sent 40 years in the future, but then when acronix comes back and fights wu, he’s nearly killed and washes up on shore with serious injuries, where humans find him and bring him to a hospital.

not knowing much about merperson physiology, the hospital struggles to treat him, and if borg industries hadn’t stepped in with their experimental medical technology, acronix would have died.

cyrus borg goes to the hospital to meet acronix and they make friends. he brings acronix a borgwatch so he can communicate with the hospital while he recovers

krux is there. he kind of sucks

lloyd is half human (garmadon is the mer and misako is the human)

kai still has fire powers but they’re not as useful when he lives underwater

zane is still a robot but a mer robot. echo is his brother, also a robot, but not a mer robot

mer!jay was adopted by ed and edna, both human.

there’s too much lore to this, I just wanted to write ocean dates with acronix & cyrus

Acronix allowed himself to be helped out of the water and onto an examination table. Cyrus wheeled himself over and handed the BorgWatch to one of the nurses. "It should be able to monitor some of his vitals," he said, "but the accuracy is… questionable. The most important part is –" A slimy wet hand touched his forehead and Cyrus was too shocked to continue. "Huh," Acronix said, his voice rasping in the dry air. He ran his hand over Cyrus' head. "Feels weird."

yeah, like, my personal interpretation of acronix x borg is that acronix was mostly going along with krux’s plans rather than making her own decisions, and while that doesn’t make her actions any better, it does mean she has more of an ability to change and redeem herself, which is what happens in my main digitaltime series. obvs in drinking from the river, were still in the early parts of season 7 so she hasn’t had a chance to do any changing yet or like… talk to cyrus much at all.

idk how much of this is really relevant to your ask I’m just rambling ‘cause I’ve been trying to figure out whether I’m gonna have the ship in coinverse at all (I tend to figure things out as I write), and it’s tough bc like… acronix did kidnap cyrus! you can’t handwave that away! and no spoilers for my fic but in season 7 canon, machia threatens to rip cyrus’ lungs out, and like, he’s kidnapped and forced to build a machine against his will. even if you say it was mostly krux’s idea, you have to still say, well, acronix saw this happen and did nothing.

it’s tough. that acronix x borg fic was a tough fic to write. I told it from cyrus’ point of view because I wanted to make it clear it was his decision to find closure and eventually a relationship with acronix, and that she really had to work to earn his forgiveness. i also removed krux cause he sucks
