I came across the poem in an exhibit of Juan Downey´s video work (1940-1993) at the Museo Tamayo, in Mexico City, May 2013.
When thinking about digital dramaturgy, I often find the digital to be weighed down by an anti- ‘organic’ element, decidely un-‘natural’, and therefore potentially alienating, urban-centered, post-human. I am drawn to this poem by Richard Brautigan, written in 1967, for its vision of digital utopia/dystopia.
