hey Digimon fandom, just an FYI (as if we need any more irritating shit going down on tumblr right now). tumblr user c0smicsoup134 just started following a ton of Digimon blogs. They are a phishing scam bot (or possibly real person, idk they're still phishing). They sent me a fake screenshot of a tumblr support email claiming that they "falsely" reported me for fraud activity. The screenshot was riddled with errors.

I know a lot of people in this fandom are internet savvy and won't fall for bait, but just giving a heads up that you need to block and report this person. They've already followed a ton of people I know.

Okay, when it comes to the comparison of the Japanese names of Digimon to the English names, I generally don't see a lot of people talking about it and I don't care about it all that much.

The American English version changed a lot about every anime of Digimon, and out of everything they changed the names of the Digimon are probably the least offensive and don't really matter that much to me because there are more important and outright weird/wrong changes they made, and this is coming from someone who does hold the English dub close to my heart because I watched it when I was younger. So when it comes to comparison of American English Digimon names and the original Digimon names, I don't do it and don't see it and don't partially care about it that much.

When it comes to Tailmon and Gatomon specifically, I don't really care about it but I will admit that Tailmon is an odd name when you really think about it. Like, sure, cats have tails and Tailmon does have a pretty noticeable tail with a Holy Ring no less so it hs important but many different animals have a tail. Gatomonis at least more creative, since gato is the Spanish word for cat and it makes sense why they changed it to that since Spanish is a common language spoken in America. However, I think both are fine and don't really care what version people use, I still know what Digimon you are talking about.
