She had looked at the few unusual students from afar. It was her lunch period by now, and all she needed right now was just to feel left out. 'Relax, relax,' she had told herself. 'You're still new here.' Although she was always the social butterfly, being in this prestigious academy made her a bit nervous. These people had looked like they had been here for quite some time by now. How could she not be nervous?

That aside, she decided to try to speak up. 'Be brave,' she had muttered under her breath. Yeah... Brave. It didn't look like they were doing much. Just eating together in a small group. How bad could it be? She had walked up to the few and once she had her attention she lightly curtsied.

"... I beg your pardon."

She had gulped. Hesitating a few moments before her next words, she had politely smiled.

Kohaku Izanami - SHSL Archaeologist - Temple of Despair

Kohaku wakes up in the interior of a dusty old temple. In front of her is a podium with a skull on it. Looking around, she spots a heavy rock and attempts to switch it with the skull. After she does so, the podium sinks into the ground and the area around her begins to shake. The screen shows a a dirt-covered plaque that is wiped away to read “TEMPLE OF DESPAIR”.

Bees are released into the chamber, and Kohaku runs away from them, down a hall where she steps on tiles that shoot poisoned arrows at her. A few scratch her and cause her searing pain, but she continues her escape to get away from the bees. She enters a larger hall, and a boulder begins to roll after her down a ramp. The entrance is in view, but it’s being closed off by a descending stone door. Kohaku dives under the gap, but it closes on her legs and traps her. Expecting a slow, starvation-based death, she is surprised when a meteor appears in the sky, hurtling right towards the temple.  Upon impact, she is vaporized and leaves behind only a skeleton.

Abasi sat in the library in one of the side-rooms, reading a hardcover book with half-interest until he saw a student come near. Thinking it'd been too long since he made a new friend, he called out to them.
