Thoughts on the mannequin
Whilst the gaffer tape model is a great way to accurately do a model I’ve found the necessity to leave my torso at art school at the hands of others means each time I come back to check on it something is slightly distorted - including this week with an odd crease in the back of the mannequin.
On Wednesday I tried to put a chest on the mannequin which was an epic fail and in hindsight I should have bought in an old brassiere as planned. However on Saturday I bought in a couple of inserts from a swimming costume which has created a happy medium.
I’m concerned that this has been an epic process that has used up a lot of my time, especially when I’ve now removed the neck twice, once with a scalpel and the second time with a saw.
I’ve established in thinking how I wanted to display my work for the final project that I need to look at different methods so tonight I’m going to get some assistance at doing a modroc torso which is more inline with my experience and will get me a quicker model.
