So a thought that came to me today shortly after finishing my final exam this morning (still have a presentation to do, so hope that goes well). It was actually partly because I found some questions hard to answer because they were written poorly, but that was mostly the MCQ's, so shouldn't get too bad a mark for it. Anyway, the main point.
So as many of you know, as a child, I was diagnosed as having a Language Disorder. Currently, it's an NOS diagnosis and has been since it began. Maybe I'll get a more specific diagnosis, or maybe I'll stay in that category. From what I've seen, it seems to affect us all, just in slightly different ways. Some aspects are stronger than others, although Kirie seems to have a minimal effect in comparison to the rest of us.
My mother always said this about me, and how strange it is to us. I've always been fascinated by languages, even though I had to have speech therapy to learn how to speak. Like many others here, I was raised bilingually, with English being spoken at home and Welsh spoken in school or in clubs, etc. (Although with my sister, we often alternated between the two languages). I like the differences in languages, such as consistency in each language. I did share something on how Irish names are spelt so differently to how they're said, but don't know if it's just the way the Irish language is (I've picked up a couple of Irish words and still need to look up how to pronounce them XD oh dear), I just wandered if the language itself was inconsistent (Like English, although even English has some consistency) or if it was actually quite consistent, just having unusual phonemes and rules (like Welsh). I just find that fascinating really.
This probably all sounds bizarre, I find that too, but it's just a part of who I am, as an individual. I know I have others who like to read, and I love reading different kinds of book and poems, but get tired after reading one or two chapters of a novel. I just find that beautifully strange, also the fact that I'm also a poet, who probably should get some writing done XD got to finish this year up first. I enjoy other things, like mathematics and psychology ect., but this particular thing I find interesting, especially the fact that I love language jokes.
Just another ramble post, sorry about that. Just thought of getting this out there really. Also it helps remind us to feel good in who we are, and not to be ashamed of our differences. It's good to take some pride in who we are, so long as it doesn't hurt others. Anyway, thanks for reading :) hope you all have a good day.
