Spoilers for This Novel Has No Hidden Villain, but every isekai I've read afterward has greatly disappointed me by not revealing that the protagonist and the character they transmigrated into are the same person because I think a lot of stories would be stronger for it
#I think villainess isekais specifically annoy me the most bc they might be sympathetic about the og's situation but end up with...#a pretty victim-blaming attitude toward the child abuse survivor dealing with medieval sexism that doesn't behave 'properly' or whatever bs#and then the MC comes in & turns everything around by NOT acting traumatized basically. and is even rewarded with the love the og...#didn't receive#while nonconsentually using their body to live (to their “Happy Ending”) in a way the og would HATE. which isn't necessarily MC's fault#but it's still fucked up & goes directly against the Girlboss messaging#and. like. I just think truly realizing and accepting responsibility for the harm you've done even if you’ve significantly changed and/or#actually DEALING with the villain(ess) element beyond 'Everyone hates me bc of all the harm SOMEONE ELSE did' is so much more interesting#TO ME#esp bc too many stories could be replaced with 'Everyone hates me bc I have black hair (or smth else)' and it wouldn't impact the story#bc it has nothing to really say about the harm that the og did. but the situation of the MC being hated for smth outside of their control#not a poll#not a tournament#web speaks#isekai#my posts#spoilers#this novel has no hidden villain spoilers#there is no hidden villain in this novel spoilers
