#3758 - Dicranomyia aegrotans
A large cranefly spotted on a wall in the Dunedin CBD on New Years Eve.
It's native to the North, South, and Chapman Islands, but I don't have any other info on it.

#3883 - Dicranomyia, Subgenus Zelandoglochina
One of the first things I did upon arrival at the house in Waikawa was check the window sill in the garage for insects that got trapped and died there since the previous time anybody visited. Found a good variety of tiny tragedies.
The subgenus was established by American entomologist Charles P. Alexander in 1924 - he named over 10,000 craneflies over his career. Zelandoglochina means 'barbed from New Zealand' and refers to part of the male's genitals.
There are either two or about a dozen species in the subgenus - sources disagreed. They're found on the southern landmasses.
