There has never been a better time to be Jesus-centered, Bible-based, missions-hearted, praise-propelled, faith-filled, Spirit-empowered, and heaven-bound.

The joys of heaven are worth the wounds of earth, so let us fix our eyes on the return of the Lord; it is our hope.

A primary theater of spiritual warfare is in our heads and thoughts. The primary weapon of the enemy is deceit. He starts with attractive little lies and half-truths, and works his way up to blatant, ridiculous, perverted nonsense. Winning the battle for truth in the mind is critical to winning the war. If we lose enough of the little skirmishes, we can believe and do any wicked thing. If we daily combat lies with light and truth, we will stand firm, by grace, unspoiled till ‘that day.’

Much of what God sovereignly allows or purposes in our lives is for others’ sake. What God does in us is never intended to be hoarded; God works in us that He might work through us for others.

John opens his reflections on Jesus with a Greek word logos and uses it in a way that neither the Jews (divine wisdom) nor the Greeks (universal reason) understood. John says the Word became flesh and lived among His people! In other words, Jesus is God and condescended to live among men, all men, not just Hebrews.

The single most important quality that assures missionary grit is when we believe God is sovereignly good in all that He allows and all that He ordains. We may never know which it is (allowed or ordained), but those who believe all things have to pass through the hands of He who loves us are unshakable.
