Story - Green Skies
A story/diary combo for the new planet in the solar system.
Once this was a spot for peace. A place she can relax with the cool breeze blowing over her from the sea with her child in her arms. It only took a few seconds walking out for the sight to reach her eyes. Kael’rys slowly awoken to the sight burdening the skyline and instantly started crying. Irelia couldn’t blame him however at the fear. It is new and different and looks awful. It glows a hideous green with bits that don’t even seem attached to the base of the planet itself. The fear is something she felt when she first saw it break through into their space and sit there like an ominous but eventual death. Nobody really knew what happened when it happened. She wanted to go home there and then when it arrived thinking everything was about to end. But they keep going.
Irelia used to stand at the gates of Orgrimmar fighting off the invasions of the great burning legion. Their massive demons and flying vessel devastating the land and people who lived on them. But they persevered. They took the fight back to the legion. Many people died but eventually they persevered. But this… this has to be the greatest threat ever seen. How will they fight this? Will this be a war against two worlds? What is on such a world? We have been struggling to defend our own, do we have the strength to attack theirs? Irelia sighed and walked back inside. Things just seemed to go quiet and slow as she walked through her house. She smiles at her husband as he went about his home tasks with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. She passed the servants who go about what she can assume is a content existence. She sits down hugging her infant son lightly as she looked at the pile of papers and files that needed reading.
Her thoughts drifted to those of her collective. Of those who almost died and were left heavily wounded and the wounds she sustained herself. Those wounds now keeping her at home to rest and recover. She sifts through the next report of the floating object in the sky and those trying to discern what is going. She buries her face in her hands as the tiredness starts to set in. She sets aside the last of the reports and picks up Kael’rys who seems to have tired from exploring the wonders of the room and falls asleep in her arms. She takes him to rest in his crib and sits down to make an entry in her diary. The ink hits the paper and she pauses for a moment until a very small amount of text makes it onto the page.
(OOC: Date [13-08-2017] Day[Sunday])
Dear diary…
Times are dark. The world is shadowed by our greatest threat that could consume our world. I saw the world I knew burn once. I will fight until my last breath alongside all to stop it from happening again. I swore once I would die to protect the world my child is yet to see. Everyone will now face the same challenge. But will we prevail or burn is yet to be seen. But we all should be prepared to die trying.
Irelia Sunglance
Irelia places her diary down. She scratches the back of her head before placing a kiss on her sleeping childs head. She smiles down with tired eyes before taking the book and writing tools with her to be put away. She goes to her room and changes to sleep. She lies next to Sylvarys when he retires to sleep. She is prepared to lose herself to protect her home. But that sinking feeling in her stomach takes over as she knows her husband is willing to do the same. The distraction is a nice distraction from the discomforts and pains of her wounds. All they can do is make sure they are both ready. Irelia and her husband likely both hate the thought of losing the other, but they will not deny each other the chance to protect the world for their own personal safety. She rests her head against him and closes her eyes. Hoping to get some sleep in these restless times. She lets out a small breath before relaxing into sleep.
