My favorite thing about people overseas doing this meme is that you are all so consistently confused by this "address a group of people" question and you default to greetings. It's actually intended to reference the various plural-second-person forms in America and some parts of canada: y'all, you all, you guys, you's guys, you lot, all of you, etc.
