The 13th annual Hawaii International Jazz Festival will be held on August 4 and Friday 5 and Saturday in 2006. It's the perfect summer event for lovers of jazz. The fact that the festival is celebrated in a tropical paradise is an additional bonus.The Hawaii International Jazz Festival is designed to entertain and educate both tourists and residents in the art of jazz music and its influences on the development of Hawaiian music. You can enjoy concerts featuring jazz styles, including jazz Native Hawaiians. Started in 1993 by Abe Weinstein, this two-day event is considered one of the eleven major festivals on the islands of Hawaii.The festival begins at 10 am with a free jazz clinic, available in two days. The clinic is designed to demonstrate the different varieties of jazz and its historical significance. After the demo, you can participate in open debate with the speakers, including musicians.The main event is a concert that spans two nights at the theater located in Honolulu Hawaii on the island of Oahu. There will be three events in each beginning at 7 pm, with different thematic homage to the art form of jazz. Featured musicians include Freddy Cole Quartet, which will perform a Tribute to Nat King Cole, the freshman four, presented classic jazz, and Scott Martin, who plays his music with a Latin twist. In addition, local artists will introduce you to the jazz influences in Hawaiian music boom.
