Maldives video #3 While staying at Chaaya Island Dhonveli, Maldives I made new friends. Up on the trees were local bats. The first thing in my head was, Dracula. However, their local bats were harmless. They are fruit eating bats and after researching most bats do eat fruits. I watch a lot of horror flicks to think this way I think. I first spotted them when I was on the beach. I told my siblings that I saw a bat and they told me no its a bird. They didn’t believe me until they saw bats flying again. I was expecting to see creatures living on the island too. I didn’t expect bats but it was one of my highlights during my trip. Also bats do not just fly at night, they fly during the day too. Post #1 - Maldives Hi welcome to my Tumblr page. My name is Jekah and I will be sharing my traveling experiences with you. A little background about me, I grew up traveling as a kid with my family and experienced unforgettable moments. This is why I have decided to make this blog. I recently just got back from my Maldives trip. I went with my siblings to Chayaa island Dhonveli Resort, one of the islands in Maldives. It was so beautiful. The whole island was the resort. It was pure paradise. The picture above is the beach view. We stayed at a beach bungalow which meant that when we open our veranda it’s the beach. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights which was amazing. On our first day we played badminton, tennis and of course swam in the beach. The water was crystal clear. We even went snorkeling. We came prepared by bringing our own snorkeling gear which saved us costs. I highly recommend that too. Best tip to save costs is to always check out what things you can do at your destination. Also call or email the hotel about the different options you can get when it comes to food, half board or full board. The whole island was the resort so all restaurants were theirs and we found out that getting full board was cheaper. We also pedal boat and kayak. The waves were huge and at times tricky to manoeuvre but it was fun! Every night the resort would make a mixer like a beach party, magic show and a movie by the beach. It was a great opportunity to get to know the staff and fellow hotel guests on the island. I did not want to leave the island. I would definitely go back to Chayaa island or go to another island in Maldives. The only bumps during my stay was me getting hurt, stepping on one of the corals by accident. It sliced part of my left foot. Another tip, when at the beach, always wear flippers or swimming socks / shoes.
