Do you all still have some connection to the old animatronics, are your souls able to roam freely?

I had some trouble thinking of how to answer this within the story, so I'll just answer outside of it:

The ghosts have continued connections to the animatronics in a sense, but they also roam freely. The animatronics are affected by them, and they are affected by the animatronics in turn. That said, they cannot control the animatronics, nor can the animatronics control them.
