#dg:task03

for halloween, the members of polaris banded together to host an event for a local elementary school and the surrounding area, creatively dubbed "miniween" by the officers (not including sungmin). since the budget allowed for it, the boys spent the entirety of the last club meeting putting together buckets of treats for the kids: candies, stickers, pencils, and a toothbrush for posterity's sake.

as for costumes, the only guideline given was to remain child-friendly. easy enough, right? several ideas floated around in sungmin's mind, but none of them quite seemed to stick... until he overheard one of the members jokingly suggest dressing up like princesses, followed by more voices piping up in agreement. princesses, huh? he hadn't given much thought to wearing a dress before, but it couldn't hurt to try.

that's how it began. the polaris boys aren't the type to half-ass their events. if several members were going to dress up like this, they had to go all in. dresses, wigs, makeup—all of it to sell the pure grace and charm of real princesses. sungmin wasn't quite sure how well he'd fare. being the resident overthinker, he spent the last 48 hours perfecting his mannerisms, almost losing himself in the role before it could even begin.

honestly, jiahn's not a big fan of the whole scary thing that halloween usually has going on. she's always enjoyed cosplaying for halloween instead, but this year she hadn't really had a plan for it.

after helping sooah ( @wickedblxss ) with her costume, jiahn had thought long and hard about her own, when she had come across a cute pair of fairy wings at a costume store she was perusing. it wasn't something she had really thought about, but being a fairy could be cute right?

she bought the wings on the spot.

in truth, there is no real motivation to why he chose this costume. he doesn't even know love and deepspace well. he knows it's a game. he's seen groups of girls in his classroom talk about it. when he goes out into the city and walks by the boba shops, he sees the big cardboard stands of some of the boys...

this man just happened to be one of them that caught his eye.

dj was a glasses user, so not having to put in contacts for the day for the spirit of the holiday seemed appropriate. he knew that if he didn't dress up, he had particular friends who would nag at him until he eventually had to partake in the holiday.

his costume was the bare minimum.. but if people pointed at him and said he wasn't dressed up, he could argue to them that he, in fact, IS wearing a halloween costume... does he know the actual material of where his costume is from? no... but it's the effort that counts, right? there wasn't really much.

if dj were to take a closer look into this character, he may be able to relate to him... but who's to say for sure? a cold man who actually has a kind heart? a human being who feels as though he lives with a curse that prevents him from opening up to others?

if she had to be honest, she was honestly... stuck with what to dress up as for halloween. she didn't exactly want to be not creative. as much as cho sooha is trying to hide her alter ego, she didn't want everyone to think that the girl was incapable of putting in effort... even if it's for silly things like this.

the blonde hair was not apart of the costume thing—wouldn't it be funny if she went through all that effort and money to get her hair bleached just for a costume? besides joining the anime club, sooha wanted to take baby steps in branching out and getting out of her comfort zone! and perhaps she was inspired by all the fanart she saw of gojo and nanami, but something in her... wanted to go from black to something a lot lighter.

she made sure to thank nara a bajillion times for accompanying her to the salon and waiting for her because... going from virgin black to this color... holy god. she'll thank her for the suggestions on getting olaplex, purple shampoo, and coconut oil, too.

with her new hair, she quickly went on her social media for her fandoms to look at cute anime girls with bangs and blonde hair and that's when she remembered... HER. sooha herself isn't the biggest fan of wuthering waves—she was more of a casual player (there was a lack of yaoi in there, as much as she thought brant was handsome). but she remembered reading somewhere that the girl was a religious disciple of their god in the universe...

it was perfect! a religious blonde anime girl! plus she really did look like sooha.

she quickly went to the one person in anime club that knew a good thing or two about cosplay... SHIN JIAHN. she's seen the girl pop up in events for the anime club in cosplay, hearing stories about the girl working her hardest on styling wigs, printing props, hot-gluing pieces onto a hoyo cosplay... etc. so she quickly asked her on where she could be able to get good, affordable cosplays from video games...

with the idea in mind, all she needed was to get the fit together. she didn't exactly want to "closet cosplay" it. she could take a picture of her costume so that she could get her moots to say something nice about her costu—cosplay? YEAH! plus, if she has fun in this fit, she might even be able to enjoy cosplaying other characters! MAYBE SHE CAN COSPLAY A FEMME NANAMI OR A FEMME GOJO

and now, she was standing in front of her full-body mirror, looking over at her outfit.

she's not sure if the waist ornament will stay, so she made sure to come prepared with safety pins. her hat might fly off, so she had to make sure she brought bobby pins to set it down on her natural hair she can only imagine how much more difficult it'd be for someone with an actual wig. as she stared at herself, she couldn't help but feel as though she's looking at a completely different person... she already had to adjust to looking at herself in the mirror with a lighter shade of hair than what she's had in her last twenty two years of living, but now she's wearing such a fancy outfit! much more fancier than the things she'd even wear to mass!

but she takes a picture on her phone, taking off one glove so she can actually press the buttons on her screen. When she looks back at her gallery, she smiles at the sight she sees in front of her. she was... cute! she was very very pretty!
