I was born in surrey, England, but spent most of my childhood in kent. I moved to Wales with my mother when i was 11 years old and have lived here since. Ive been doing hand embroidery since I was 6 years old, all thanks to my mother who took the patience to teach me. I was taught to crosstitch but self taught myself all the other types of embroidery stitches and knots.

How would you describe your work and what you do?                                                

I would describe my work as intricate and very time consuming. A lot of great care and effort goes into every stitch to consistantly give the final piece that perfect look.

What inspires you? 

Thinking of how beautiful the final peice will look inspires me to keep on stitching. Theres nothing greater than the sense of pride you get once a piece is complete !

What makes you individual/unique compared to others?

What makes me unique to others is my patience and perserverance to create something exactly as I visualize it in my mind.

How would you describe your style?

I dont have a particular style as the work I do covers many different types. Texture is definately important in my work as it makes a piece stand out. Using beads or certain stitches to add a 3D effect makes all the difference.

What is the importance of texture in your designs/ work?

I have a great understanding of craft, it is my passion and i enjoy nothing more. It gives me great satisfaction.

What is your understanding of craft? Is there enough of it?

Sadly I dont really think there is enough craft around these days as so many people chose hobbies that involve technology, and many dont put the effort in to learn the art of hand embroidery.

How would you describe the work you produced for Korlekie?

I would describe the work I produced for korlekie as stunning and unique !

Is there anything you learnt while working with the brand?

While working for the brand I have developed on my skills and ive  learnt new techniques.

One word to describe Korlekie-
