Joyce really is a gem I hope people realize that
She is a very sheltered woman, but she is using her past and experiences to apply to new and different things. Her love of a tv show lets her see how people can have analysis reviews and discussions like her church group. Shows that other people can be just as well informed on a topic (Dexter&MonkeyMaster, Bible) but still have different opinions on the same thing. And if things outside her comfort zone can still be familiar, then she can still take it step by step to open up more.
She's trying and we love her for it
