The problem with know how the RAW files in Dwarf Fortress work is that you'll be disappointed that there aren't fireproof salamanders that live in magma, so you'll decide to write one up in notepad and next thing you know you've eaten two packs of ryebread instead of lunch and you have a fortress which is well on fire and you're dwarves are wearing salamander skin asbestos clothing and oh my it was definitely a bad idea to let them spit magma

Every time i test a Girll fortress i love how the slightest hostile animal causes them all to use their fire powers, causing a forest fire that destroys all above ground grass and plants and trees. Good riddance. No self respecting dwarf or sentient bbq grill cares for the surface.
You can ranch all animals in underground lots. Doesnt even have to be in the caravans. Long as you opened up a caravan, all muddy floors start growing vegetation for grazers to eat. So you can have sealed lots anywhere just by dumping some buckets of water from above.
I found a mod that shows how to make hammocks out of cloth or leather. Cant figure out how to make them actually say "hammock" instead of bed. Ah well, I can imagine them sleeping on piles of skin. And everything else can be made from stone and metal
i once again modded Girlls into dwarf fortress. my previously mentioned one was for whatever was before the february update and i took a while to figure out what was broken between versions. i think it had to be a difference in the entity_default files or something.
i just need to remove the ability for them to be carpenters or farmers. no disgusting wood. only the wonderful meats and leather.

the biome support numbers mean that they weigh more to growing human style cities in any wetland or river, or in the middle of a desert. with allowances to also spawn in regular forest, grassland, or mountains but at a lower tolerance. and their civs always start in any wetland, something the other civs dont like as much.
