devotional stone, vagina-type in-yo-seki (yin-yang stone)

Halo, circa 1801-1900.

Description: A Virgin's halo or circular diadem made of embossed tin from the early 19th century, lavishly decorated with a central circle occupied by a rosette surrounded by acanthus leaves. Surrounding the central circle are thirteen star-shaped beams of light, one of which is lost, alternating with plant motifs.
