the epithets i like the most are Andreiphontês (manslaying), Obrimos (strong, mighty), and Oplokharís (rejoicing in arms)

Ares is the only son of Zeus and Hera. He's the lover of Aphrodite. Some of his divine children are Anteros and Eros, Phobos and Deimos, Harmonia, though he's also had plenty mortal offspring. It's said that he was jealous of Adonis. He's often accompanied by Phobos & Deimos (fear and terror), Eris & Enyo (strife, hatred and war), Nike, and various daimons.

PROMPT 1:  Name the deity you will be working with, do a basic introduction of this deity and give a quick overview of your relationship with them.

Ares is the god of war and battles, anger rage, courage and cowardice, rebellion, violence, fear and terror, weapons, blood-lust, civil order, sacking and defending cities, protecting the land, strength, etc

Aphrodite:

“Light of my life, fire of my loins” she sings across the radio waves but the phrase seems tawdry compared to your laughter the bright joy upon your cheek and the contentment you inspire in my breast.

Apollo:

Aphrodite: They say “love means never having to say you’re sorry”, which I have never really understood. The only sense I can make of this is to translate it as “never apologize for loving someone”, but even this seems strange to me. To me, you cannot have love without some measure of forgiveness. It seems that every other sentence I say to the ones I love is “I’m sorry.” And they forgive me. But to blindly forgive doesn’t seem right either. There are unforgivable things in this world, lines that must stay uncrossed. Does to love someone mean to forgive them? Does that forgiveness have to be mutual? Love is a contradiction unto itself, a labyrinth that seems simple on the surface and yet unending in its twists and turns. Perhaps forgiveness in love is making sure you both reach the other side together.

Aphrodite: Aphrodite oceanborn, who awoke sheathed in sea foam, pearls for eyes and salt on your skin- you are the lady of love and waters, of beauty and pleasure, and it has taken me far too long to know you. 

Together- I think my devotional from yesterday was bent more towards this question, but I guess today is just meant for me to go deeper into it and explain. Because Aphrodite was the first goddess I started researching after I decided to get back into studying paganism, she’s been making her presence felt very loudly to me. It seems like everywhere I turn, there’s something that makes me think of her. And thinking of her kept me calm when I started to have an anxiety attack while I got my hair dyed, which was very helpful. Body positivity is hard for me, and working with her is helping that. Sometimes I think I may imagine her too soft- the gods aren’t exactly known in myths for being the kindest of beings- but I still feel her kindness, so I think perhaps I’m doing alright. I don’t know if I would consider her a patron goddess just yet, because I’m still exploring relationships with others in the Pantheon, but I guess I could at least be considered an Aphrodite devotee.
