Dinniman has woven some interesting themes into DCC that a lot of (I’m assuming here) cis het dudes wouldn’t hit on. I need to do a re-read to pull specific examples but the most obvious is how the System AI objectifies Carl in ways that are typically reserved for people afab. It’s a horror all of its own. Adding more queer to that fire? Now that’s tasty and what my one shot is exploring.

Suddenly, a sonic boom rang out and I found myself actually skipping across the ground. I felt my vision grey before I managed to check my health. Which was now a lovely orange-red and steadily ticking down. Every impact and breath brought a sharp, jabbing fire. I tried to punch a health potion from my hot bar, only to find it disabled.
