We normally get 50-60 offers just like this one annually. They are absolutely bad deals for us. The reasons are many. First, most photographers like this want to do calendars. But by the time you add up location costs, organizing, costs for models and the hired photographer, editing, printing, and distribution, you are left with very little profit margin.  And this begs the question, "Who are you going to sell them to?" Plus you would sell thousands to be profitable.

Next, photographers like this want us to pay the model(s) with our outfits. Then these photographers generally want to come up with their own concepts like a beautiful model in a wedding dress in a dirty train tunnel? While the shot maybe great, the concept is out of place for us.

Secondly, only God knows just how many models the photographer actually shoots in our outfits. Then they rarely pick models we would use. What we get back if anything at all is images edited their way, with models the don't fit what we are trying to showcase and their copyrights all over the images, which usually is a distraction to the eye.Further they will likely take 250 to 500 images while we may only get 5 to 10 and they normally pose the model in ways that we deem as portfolio shots and are just not good images of outfits we are trying to sell.

Moreover, you see where this guy wanted us to pay him an "advertising fee" to post the images to HIS site. The question we asked him was "How does that translate in to actual sales?" It doesn't and is only for self promotion of his own site and work. The average consumer is NOT going to go shopping for swimwear, fitness wear, health supplements or personal training services on a photography website. So do you also feel this guy's offer is nothing more than a means to exploit designers and models for his own benefit? You bet!
