What triggers smart pricing aside from demand? Eg country, whether the guest is new, device?
I was recently looking at a property on Airbnb for £46 a night. I contacted the host who offered me the property (without touching any pricing) for £51 per night. I mentioned this left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and the host cancelled the offer. Looking at the property again it’s now £59 per night. This all happened over 30 minutes or so.
My friend, who I sent the link before the ‘smart pricing’ surge, was able to book it for the original £46.
I’ve been reading some comments from people who suspect that accounts with fewer bookings are likely to see lower prices. And also accounts from certain countries see lower prices too.
