when the metamorphosis sui symbol was created, it was made to refer to literal, physical transition inspired by alterhuman identity. it was created to differ from holothere identity (that did not inquire about your transition or your shapeshifting ability) and otherkinity (where physicality and expression of such was necessary). i never made a unicode version of it when it created it, but it went on to be used by many endels, CLCZs, transspecies folk, and shifters - my main demographic for this symbol.
when holothere didn't fit for them, when otherkin pushed them out, i created this solely because it created unity for those who had to deal with shapeshifting, deal with physical dysphoria and changes, and the need to finally become. transition and shifting weren't required for them to exist, it was just part of our overall culture and cemented us as beasts to the public. beasthood exists because it means to allow those of us who wish to transition, space to do so.
the flag was additional. it was created to be a backdrop for the symbol, but it represented something deeper than just that. it was made to be handmade through patches, fabric, and felt. it was made to be easy enough to draw on surfaces with colors. it was made to say something with the symbol - that we are part of a movement that buries the patriarchy and ends the persecution of belief systems/identities.
