How does this extremely well rated inventory system work? Imagine opening a bag. Your vision is mostly obstructed, but you can take the time to assess your own condition more precisely than when on the move. You can get at your items, and change what’s in your immediately accessible pockets (aka hotkeys). The metaphor doesn’t hold up for skills, but you get the idea.
