I think I’ve mentioned this before (kinda) but this song gives me such a sense of acceptance and has a big reward factor for me. It’s like all of the characters have gone through so much in order to get here and it pays off because they preform this song very very well, everything so far in this book has been leading up to this.

We start off with some very true words about perfectionism. Admittedly, this obviously doesn’t only apply to preformers, but there are a whole lot of us that have this kind of mindset. It’s kind of tragic tbh since there is no real way to “perfect” anything in the arts department, only “improve”. Seeing improvement is a good confidence boost for others, but the fact that improvement isn’t linear paired with the fact that perfection is impossible (not even mentioning the fact that there’s always going to be someone who’s better,) can really discourage someone: make someone feel untalented- and that all of their hard work isn’t amounting to very much.
