Taako has absolutely not gone out of his way to be here. Nuh-uh. Nor has he interrupted a very successful, satisfying tour of merch-selling and investments ( mainly into his school, which Ren has under control while he’s away ). Nope, no fuckin’ way. He’s just ... stopping by. It’s totally convenient, totally in the area, and definitely not because Ango sounded upset in their last far speech convo or because of Taako’s subsequent interrogation of Lucas. Something’s up, and Taako’s here to make sure no one’s messing with Ango.

Uhh, allegedly that’s why he’s here. It’s not like he cares or anything.

The school, with its incorporated boarding options, is enormous already, even though it’s still in its young days, and Taako has to ask multiple people where to find Ango, before he finally narrows down his search to one of the study rooms adjacent to the huge-ass library. Very deliberately, Taako nearly kicks down the damn door, and marches up to Ango, who already looks way older than the last time Taako got to see his face in person ( the fact tugs a little at Taako’s gut ).

                 Seeing a child on campus isn’t —— it isn’t unusual, per say, but it is far less usual to see a child strolling about looking so AT EASE. Also, without an adult who is clearly their parent in one way or another. Dorian normally would not take it upon himself to care, but there is no one else around and he’s headed towards the laboratory and isn’t in any sort of RUSH for once in his life, in spite of the rather tall stack of books and papers in his arms. Yes, in spite of the bag slung across his shoulders.

     A younger, less experienced Lucretia would have told you that she had no time for kids. She didn’t actively dislike children, of course. The ones she’d met during her time on the Starblaster had no shortage of stories to tell her, even if whether they were true or not could be debated, and despite her initial apprehensionthey’d definitely been fans of her’s.

     Angus, of course, was not a normal kid. Perhaps a little dorky in dress, he absolutely earned the right to wear that bow-tie around his neck. Lucretia had spent a century meeting the leaders of nations and living with some of the seven smartest people she knew, but Angus sometimes blew them all out of the water.

     She remembered first hearing about his investigations all those years ago, initially thinking him to be much older than he was (based on the reports of his genius deductive capabilities). But he was just a boy, only 10 years old and still a couple of teeth short of a full smile, who had joined her organization and become one of its most valuable- and well loved- members.

     Now, a young man stood in front of her with countless ribbons, metals, and awards decorating his graduation robes. Looking at him like this, she often felt a strange, maternal emotion stirring in her chest. He might not be her blood, but that never stopped her family before, and it wouldn’t stop her now.

          The young detective had been a metaphorial thorn in the Bureau’s side for a bit, looking into things that would make most not even give a second glance. Lucretia didn’t blame the child though, he was naturally curious, and had the intelligence to satiate that curiosity. He reminded her of          no, not now.

          She had asked Killian to bring the boy detective to her, and it seemed like the time had come to converse with this one; Angus McDonald.

          They stepped in, and she folded her leg, intimidation and power radiating off her. Honestly, not much of her fault or intention.
