In return, Gin would mutely remain as he so often appeared: with eyes creased beyond perception and an unwavering smile. The regularity of this expression had in time caused a weathering of his countenance by several years. A visible record of a resolve which could easily be perceived as nothing more than the result of an irredeemable callousness.

With arms crossed over the hilt of his blade, Gin bent to level his height with the creature which bore the likeness of panther fashioned from bone and viscera. For a time, Gin did not speak, regarding the beast in silence. He observed with an unnerving stillness, no movement or breath escaping his notice despite the languid posture. In the humble presence of his power was an unspoken notion: if the beast moved to strike, it would not be to Gin’s detriment.

Quiescence would be ended with a tilt of Gin’s head and a low breath of amusement. ❝Would ya care to know more than mere squabbles between your kind? To know the taste of a hunter’s ambition?❞
