it's funny because i had never ever ever had a fic get this many hits/kudos/comments on ANYTHING before, but i went into it thinking (knowing) that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea !

funnily enough, i remember the day i started writing it - i actually wrote four different page-ones for four different fic ideas but the SECOND i wrote about shane getting out of his car in that parking lot, i knew i wanted to continue with it because it dragged me INNNN. i immediately fell in love with them

one tidbit is, i guess, that chapter 3 was originally supposed to be much bigger in terms of the number of scenes, and i was really scared of tackling the condo sequence. i thought it would be a few hundred words max because i used to jump around difficult conversations and only write out the 'most important' stuff. and i think degrees taught me that i don't always have to do that and more often than not, it's the better choice (for me) to hunker down and write it ALL out, even if it's difficult (for me, and for them) !! i said in a previous ask that i am insecure about my writing - i generally really don't know what to do with all the kind comments i've gotten over the past few months - but i can recognize that degrees taught me a lot about allowing myself to give scenes the time they deserve <3
